Rap Luver!

Oh my Stink! Sophie luvs Rap music! I dunno where this came from, but she is a freak about it. We were running some tutu's out to Saratoga Springs the other day and had the ipod playing in the car. That song from Flo Rida called "Low" came on and she started dancin in her seat and singing along to it. Apparently this is a song she has heard before, enough times to pick up on a few of the lyrics anyway, i'm blaming it on the boyz! There's something weird about hearing your daughter sing a song about "apple bottom jeans, boots with fur, she hit the floor, low, low, low"! I heard these words come out of her mouth and just about died! Her little car seat dance was super cute, glad I had my camara with me. Check it Out!

After about 30 seconds the song would stop playing, something was messed up with it, anyway, she would get so mad she would start crying until I would play it again, she would stop when it came back on and then start crying again when the song would stop playing. It was so funny!
She had a super bad day that day, the whole Ipod stopping thing really upset her, then she got her finger pinched in the high chair buckle at PF Changs, cut her toe on the door at SubZero, and to top it all off she didn't get her beauty nap and we didn't get her to bed until after midnight! Poor Thing!

Amy's Graduation!

This post has been a long time coming! I was so happy when I got these Pictures from Amy's graduation! She graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors from St. Petersburg College School of Nursing in Florida. We are so proud of her and want her to know how much we luv her and think she is such an amazing woman! She excels at everything she does! What a great example she is to her little sister. She is such an amazing daughter, sister, wife, and now Registered Nurse. Although, she is not stopping here. She is continuing her education to pursue a career as a Nurse Practitioner! Go Amy! We are so super proud of you!

Birthday Wishes....

Here Kitty, Kitty...

This is a new phrase that Sophie is picking up on really quickly. Some friends of ours cat just had kittens and Sophie is going nutzo over them. It is hilarious to watch her get so excited and squeal and bounce over these small creatures. Anyone who knows both David and I well, know that neither one of us are cat luvers. In fact I would go so far as to use the word "HATE", which describes my feelings for cats pretty well. I get the shivers when they rub up against my legs, UGH! Nasty! Anyway, we came in the house the other night from playing and Sophie went right up to David and said "Daddy, I wanna kitty cat", "Pleeese"! Total crack up moment, cause I had nothing to do with it and David knew it. He just about died, those big blue eyes and her pouty bottom lip threw him for a loop! His comment was "What do I do with that?" How does he tell his baby girl "no"? I had absolutly no problem telling her "noway, sista"! "not in this lifetime"! So we'll see how this one turns out. If I were a bettin man in Vegas, I'd bet we have a new feline living at our house within the next week or two!

Could it really Be?

Who is this child I ask myself? Could it really be Bailey? YESSSSSSS! It is! It really, really is!
Okay, so Holy Freakin Crap! I take him down to get his monthly shag trim and he totally tells the lady at Super Cuts to cut it all off! I'm dying here! The lady looks at me and goes "he wants it short, is that okay"? "What", I say, "are you sure Bailey?" He looked a little unsure, but he said "Yep, cut it off"! Hala freakin Lua! Don't get me wrong, I luved the curls, but it's a great change with the warmth approaching.

Cute Kenzie!

I have been downloading pictures tonight from the camera and luved this one of Kenzie talking to Cody when he called home for mother's day! It was so cute to watch her talk to him and see her grinning from ear to ear! She is so much fun and she's quite the little baker! She brought me a huge plate of yummy pineapple cookies for Mother's Day! Her mom made those for Cody's farewell last year and Kenzie must have remembered how I devoured almost all of them. She is a keeper! We luv her so much and hope that we don't run her off before Cody returns home!

Look out Beyonce...

So, it's been established that i'm the Singing Monster at our house, and probably everybody elses considering I'm always trying to sing a tune and carry one for that matter. I have a secret desire to be on American Idol one day, even though i'm way past the age limit for the show. I'm hoping they'll do A seniors version some day. I can dream can't I? So anyway, this morning I was singing that song by Beyonce, I don't know the name I just know the chorus, "To the Left". Anyway, Sophie was right there with me on it! It was hilarious! I had to record her tonight to share! It amazes me the things she picks up on. (remember to pause the music player at the bottom of the page)

Helmet Head...

Yup, she wears this helmet everywhere! It's a good thing she likes it. As soon as she gets up in the morning she is asking for her Pink hat! I think it must make her feel secure or something. We have had a few strange looks from people the couple of times we have actually left the house for a moment or two. She's a crack up! Whatever makes her feel better, I guess. We left the house for a few hours today for sanity purposes and accidentally left the helmet home. It was pretty traumatic for a minute or so until I found one of her hats in the trunk of the car (thank goodness it was a match, you know me) she let me convince her that it would work. phew...
As you can see she is in pretty high spirits and is getting her appetite back. We are still debating on a repeat CT scan to compare to the previous. Without having any more symptoms, it's not completely necessary to do another one. It's totally up to us at this point. There are obviously both pros & cons to having another one. We feel really good about waiting this out a few more days. I am so thankful to have the priesthood in our home. It is such a comfort, especially during times like these. The last blessing she had left us feeling the spirit so strongly and we both felt really good about the overall outcome of this unfortunate situation. Thank you to everyone for there continued support and prayers. We appreciate it so much!

Sleeping Beauty...

Well, so far so good with our little head trauma patient! She is a real trooper. The vomitting has stopped, thank Goodness! She is sleeping a ton though! Typically i'd be happy for her to take 5 hour naps, but with her situation it's kinda scary. I know her little body needs to heal and sleep is the best way. I luv her little spirit so much and all the funny things she is saying is the only thing that is keeping me going right now. She is a crack up! When we constantly are waking her up to check on her she is saying things like "mommy, i can't wake up" i'll say "why", she'll say "cause", i'll say "just try", she'll say "i can't" i'll say "why" again, she says "I don't know, leave me lone". All this while hanging her head with her eyes closed. OOH, I luv her guts so much!

Sophie's broken head...

Well, the CT scan confirmed that there is a skull fracture with a bleed that may or may not get worse. Since there wasn't a CT scan to compare tonight's to, they don't know if the bleed is getting worse or not. So we just continue now for the third night in a row with waking her up every hour and hoping and praying like crazy that the vomiting doesn't get any worse. The neurosurgeon at PCMC said he is hopeful that it won't. If it does however, they will have to admit her to PCMC to insert a tube and drain the blood and observe her for a few days. Let's pray that's not the case!! My head is still a little foggy from all the details and info we were given, so I will post more later.

Crazy dayz!

Wow, just when things start to resemble some sort of normalcy in our lives, Sophie has to go and jump out of the shopping cart! So we were at Costco the other day picking up our weekly produce when Sophie decided that she would take a tumble and wack her noggin on the concrete floor pretty hard! The sound was pretty comparable to a watermelon being thrown and splattering against concrete. I've never seen so many people come out of nowhere to offer a hand or there bag of frozen veggies. She was pretty lethargic and then cried for a while and in alot of pain but once she stopped crying she seemed to be pretty coherent. It was heartbreaking to see her like that. So, we ran her by Instacare as to avoid waiting forever in the ER and they wouldn't even touch her since it was a head injury in a small child. So I called Uncle Dave, he's a radiologist, and asked him his opinion. He said that he see's alot of cases like this and 99.5% of the time there fine. Apparently this is a pretty common thing with small children, falling out of shopping carts and what not. So we decided just to observe her and treat her like she had a concussion even though there were no signs. Well, she has been pretty okay until tonight. The vomiting just started (literally as i'm typing this post) and we're on our way to the hospital now. to be continued....
