Halloween 08

Halloween....What a fun Holiday! The one time of year you can dress like a complete moron and win a prize for it! Totally Awesome! It was a busy Week for us. When i say week i mean it went on for a week with all the partying we did. The Oldhams threw there Annual Halloween Bash. It was 80's attire. It was fun to see how everyone remembered the 80's. I obviously didn't have a camara, so no pics sorry. But just imagine mullets, high crimped hair, tacky makeup, and leg warmers. It was fun. They (oldhams) also had a party for all the little people. Dress like a Rockstar...blue hair and all...(again, no pics)

This year, the boys were so easy with costumes. Bailey dressed as a Gangsta, and Bridger dressed as a nerd.



Sophie of course was Strawberry Shortcake. She became addicted when Kenzie gave her the movie and coloring book! Everything is about Strawberry Shortcake! I luv it though, i had the same facination with it when i was a kid.


The little people and I also went to the PrimRose Halloween Party and scored lots and I mean lots of treaters. We also had a fun filled Family night with the neighbors that included a fire and pumpkin carving. Lots of fun stuff!

Sophie and I got to go to the school and help out in Bailey's class for there Party. They also had a costume parade that was crazy but fun to see all the little people dressed up! I had to laugh, in Bailey's class there was a boy dressed as "john McCain" and a girl dressed as "Sarah Palin". It was priceless! lol


Our family was also invited to a Party Halloween night at the Christensen's. Our friends down the street. We got dressed up once again. This time we were Cody and Kenzie (they're way better looking, let's be honest). David wore Cody's football jersey and i of course, wore Kenzie's Cheer uniform. It was fun! We ate way to much food and got way to much Candy!

Farwell Football...!

Bridger had a "ball" playing flag football this year. He was on the Packers again and luved his coaches. He got to play quarterback a ton and can really throw the ball. I was impressed. Even David said "wow, he's got an arm" and it's harder to impress him. Anyway, until basketball. Farwell!

Life....

I was online today and found this quote....Things have been tough around our house lately and with life in general. As I read through this, it seemed to put a new light on things and help me realize this is the kind of person I strive to be more like.

Cutie...Patooty...


Sophie has been so fun lately....she is really a funny little girl with such a great spirit about her. We feel so blessed that she is a part of our family. She says some of the funniest things...I have been under a lot of stress lately and when that happens the acne comes forth. I call it acne, because i hate the words zit and pimple. Yuck! Anyway, i had a second chin going on for awhile there and anytime we would be around anyone at all she would proudly announce that "mommy has a shicken pok", while pointing at my chin. yah, nice. I can't wait to do that to her when she gets older.

Bitter Sweet...

The jury is in....Guilty!!! My dear sister and her family have had a rough several months and it appears to be looking up...The closing arguments were made today and with the jury only diliberating a little over an hour the verdict came back with Guilty on both counts! It has been a battle and journey for them and all the family to try and cope with the crap that was placed upon us all. He will be sentenced on December 9th, one year from the day that life changed tragically. We all luv Susan and her kiddos so much and are hopeful that they can put this part of the crap behind them, and we pray that Tara can heal from all the hurt that he inflicted upon her. She is one brave and smart young woman!

Hey, what's up? So...are we still friends? I know i'm a looser and haven't been contributing that much lately but....I do have a few excuses....Let's seee...

So, here we go! Back on the Blog Wagon. I will conquer this "Spyware" crap if it kills me. It has been awhile. I find myself with way to much time on my hands since I haven't been able to get online. lol I am very excited to finally get to read and comment on all of your blogs again. (crossing fingers)

No, seriously though, I have really been struggling over the past several weeks (not because of the computer), and am super greatful for all the support that's come my way. I have been forced to function, whether I wanted to or not. So even though hoppin in the blue van (minus a bra) and headin to Micky D's to get a D.C., or standing at my island in desperate need of a shower and cutting flyers for the PTA seems lame, it's totally been beneficial to my health and well being. So thanks a bunch for all the house calls and phone calls that have come my way. I super Appreciate it!

On a lighter note, we are all working on being healthy, and physically fit. Even though i've taken a few weeks off of biking, i'm thinkin i could get back on tomorrow and go like no other. I am definately feelin better physically. YEAH! So, i'm headin to the local jock shop and pickin up some cold weather clothes for the saddle. It'll be GRAND! I feel sad to say that i'm quiting the D.C. yet again, and have to lay off the specialty bagel treat that has stemmed from all these amazing juicy red garden fresh tomatoes. They appear to like my butt cheekers and thighs too much. Oh well, it was good while it lasted! So, all ya'll that have picked up my guilty pleasure, enjoy and think of me while partaking.... :( Luv you all!

Long time, no post....

It's been awhile. While I wish I could say that I have been doing tons of fun things, I can't. Life is pretty much easy going and peaceful right now with not alot going on. I did finish the Twilight serious in record time though. It was a great read. I was anticipating the new perspective book that Stephanie Meyer was working on, Midnight Sun: Edward's Version of Twilight, until somebody illegally posted it on the Internet. She has stopped working on it indefinately, but has graciously posted a partial draft of the book on her site here http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/midnightsun.html . I am not all the way through it and it is very difficult to read much before my lovely PC shuts down on me, because I unknowingly downloaded some crappy spyware shiz!

Anyway, other than that, not to much going on with the little people in school. The little people just started flag football (Bridger), and baseball (Bailey). More to come on that topic.

Obsessed.....

I am so dreadfully behind on posting, it's not even funny! And due to my recent obsession with the "Twilight" Series, i'm pretty much non functional when it comes to anything, but reading! Ugh! I luv it! I am a little mad that I didn't read it sooner, but I heard that it was about vampires and wasn't the slightest bit interested. That is until Ashlee asked me if i'd read them and i told her no and why not. She assured me that I would luv it and I do. I have done nothing for the last two days, but read, all 498 pages of it! The little people have been so good just to play and leave me be! Yeah! I even heard Sophie tell the boys when they came in yelling for me, "SSHHH, mommas readin!" David definatly has not benefited from this whatsoever. He even muttered the question, "what did you do all day", apparently the house was trashed. The only benefit to me just now getting started, is that I don't have to wait for the sequels. They're already waiting patiently for me on the shelves at the store. Gotta get there tomorrow! The suspense is killing me!

Shoshone Falls




While we were in Idaho we visited Shoshone Falls Park! These falls are actually higher than Niagra Falls. Not much else to say about it except it was pretty to look at for a minute and a really nice park! The kids seemed to enjoy it. The falls flow into the Snake River! You know, the river Evel Knivel tried to jump on his motorcycle. We have also visited that spot before. It was at this park that we decided to bring James home with us for a couple of weeks. He is a great Kid and we have luved having him around.

Twin Falls Temple




Over the past few weeks we have had some fun dayz. Besides the 24th, we took a trip up to Idaho to attend the Twin Falls Temple open house with Nanny. That is the temple Nanny & Poppy will be workers in. Now they don't have to drive to Boise anymore to work at the Boise temple. They only have to go about 40 miles from there home in Paul to Twin Falls. We met up with Susan, Tara, & James and had lunch before we all went to see the Temple. It was obviously a very beautiful and spiritual experience. That is until Sophie took off running through a special curtain in one of the rooms and I about died!!!! HOly Cow, we had men running from every directions to try and stop her! Oh Dear! There was also an individual that puked all over in the Celestial Room on the plush White carpet. Nasty! The spirit must have hit them pretty Strong! Anyway, it was a great experience for the boys and i'm so glad we made the journey up there.

Reservoir FuN!!













Vic and I decided we wanted to take the little people to the park yesterday! What a great idea, NOT! It was seriously like 942 degrees outside and at least that on all the playground equipment. So we packed up and went to the reservoir! It was so much fun! I think were going to be spending more time there this summer.

Pioneer Day continued...

After our fun afternoon at PrimRose, Sophie came home and crashed. David took Bailey, Bridger & James over to Salem Pond to swim and take the canoes out. They had a great time! When all the little people woke up we put up the tropical paradise pool and they took a dip.


After swimming we had a big barbecue with lots of yummy food! Then we packed some treats and drinks and walked over to the Sports Park for some live music before the fire works. The kiddos had fun running around and playing on the fields dancin to the music. Uncle Lou bought them all light up necklace thingy magiger bobbers and 3D firework watchin glasses. Sophie put them on and started reachin to grab. It was the cutest thing. When they were all played out (or mommy was) we walked back home and set up for the fireworks. We have a great view from our driveway. I can't wait till we have a lawn to sit on! Anyway, we had a huge box of fireworks of our own that Pyromaniac David set off and then we enjoyed the city fireworks. It was a great night and we enjoyed spending it with family and friends. My camara battery died so I didn't get any pics of the little people doing sparklers. Poor little Kayley got burned by one. It was so sad. But she was a trooper and got all fixed up and forgot about it.

Pioneer Day

We started off bright and early with the Parade! It was alot of fun sitting with our good friends and family! The kiddos all had a blast! Sophie really liked seeing the princesses! I luv having a Girlie Girl!


After the parade Sophie and I went to a Special Princess Tea at PrimRose with some of our best friends. They had the Spanish Fork Royalty there visiting with all the little girls. They luved it! The food was Fabulous! I especially luved the cranberry scones. Sophie's favorite part was the cupcakes! What a Cheeser!


After lunch we got to go into the "Spoiled Rotten" part of the Spa and the girls had tons of fun dressing up and strutten their stuff on the RunWay! They had princess dresses in every size, shape and color. It was a blast!





Sophie also got her face painted like a kitty. She sat so still and looked so cute!

It was a super fun event and she played so hard... she was exhausted!

We past this heavenly place on our way to the Uinta's for our backpacking trip! I wanted to stay behind, but they were closed due to mosquito's! I can't beleive they couldn't just try and stick it out! I had lots of mosquito repellant. What a Bummer! !

Sophie's Broken Head, Part 3

Sophie had her follow up Cat Scan and visit with the Neurosurgeon at PCMC today! Yeah! The hematoma is gone! Her body did what it was supposed to and absorbed all the blood. Yeah! Okay, but her skull fracture is still in the healing process, so any thought of loosing the helmet after today's visit is long gone. Dr. Kestle said it would be at least another 4 weeks of being super duper careful and not hitting her head again for it to heal up right. So, I'm marking August 11th on my calender in big Red Markings! We are well on our way to a full recovery! Yeah!
This is a picture of Sophie's fracture. You can see the natural seams in her skull on both sides and the fracture in the middle. It is more jagged on the top part of her head. OUCH!

Hikin the High Uintas ...Part 2


David was on cloud nine this entire trip! This stuff runs through his veins! He's a Pro Packer!

We did lots of fishin, but we had to hike a little to Ramona Lake to actually catch any! It was fun!

This is the view on our hike back to camp from Ramona Lake. It was so Beautiful!

This is a picture of Kitchen Rock! Nobody is allowed to sit on, per David! It's where the little stoves sat and boiled our water for all of our yummy delicious "Mountain House" dehydrated food, hot chocolate and oatmeal!

This was our water source. A little stream that ran through the meadow we camped by. We pumped water a few times a day for drinking, cooking, and bathing.
